the process/what to expect
Phone on Desk

step 1

Speed Dating for Design

With any relationship, you're looking for a match, right? Before committing to an onsite consultation, it's helpful for us to connect via a brief phone call to discuss your project goals, timeline, and budget expectations. If for whatever reason I'm not your gal, we'll both know early on, saving your valuable time and money.

step 2

Consultation

Every project large or small begins with an up-to-2-hour, in-home consultation ($285). During this time, we'll take a look at your space and discuss your project goals. Depending on the scope of your project we may resolve all of your needs, or you may decide to partner with me longer term for additional project assistance. In that scenario, I will review my design agreement with you towards the end of our meeting and upon request, follow up via email with an estimated total of design hours to complete your project bases on my hourly rate of $65/hour.

step 3

Project Kickoff

Once the agreement has been signed and a down payment of half of your estimated design fees has been paid, I will return to your home to look at your space in greater detail, gathering photos and measurements, and accompanied by trades people (flooring vendors, painters, electricians, etc.) who may also need measurements/details, if applicable to your project. You are welcome to join us for this first meeting or may opt of attending.

step 4

Design

From large projects like flooring and electrical updates to smaller tasks such as paint and decor, I will begin sourcing materials, getting estimates, and creating a presentation for you to get a comprehensive view of your improved space from both an aesthetic and price standpoint. This work is all behind the scenes for an average of 4-6 weeks, but I will touch base with you weekly for a status report. As a reminder, all of my time spent on your project is now billable time. This includes, but is not limited to: measuring, design concepts, selecting finishes, email/phone/text communication, purchases/returns and jobsite visits. Since I bill monthly, it is possible you may receive an invoice for my hours before you've seen any of the work I have been doing, but hang tight - you will see it very soon!

step 5

Present

The fun part you have been waiting for! I'll return to your home for my design presentation to review with you in detail samples I have collected as well as estimates for large scale project items. Your remaining design time fee will also be collected during this meeting. When in agreement of the items presented and payment for them is received, the ordering process will begin.

step 6

Implement

With your product deposit in hand and final design fees paid, I will begin processing orders. Large items may ship direct to you while smaller items will be shipped to me and held back for Installation Day. During this process, I will work closely with you and the tradespeople involved in your project to ensure a smooth progression of work.

For remodeling projects or those requiring ongoing project management, invoices will be sent monthly at a rate of $65/hr.

step 7

Installation Day

Once all of your large items have been placed (furniture, lighting, flooring), I will return once again to install your remaining decor and finishing items to complete your new space. Smaller decor/finishing pieces not discussed during the design presentation will be left for 2 business days along with pricing for each item. If you choose not to purchase these items, I will pick them up to be returned.

step 8

Conclude

After Installation Day, final invoices will be sent for outstanding items. If there are any deficiencies which need resolved, we will address them at that point and make revisions. Once you are satisfied with the end result, it's time to relax and enjoy your completed space!
